Bus #1, #6, #9 or Osterport S-Tog. Down Kronprinsessegade away from the city centre are the striking cobbled streets and ochre cottages of the Nyboder district, built by Christian IV in the seventeenth century to provide free housing for his sailors. It's a pleasant enough place to wander about, even if it does all look a little bit too perfect to be true - in fact, all but one of the buildings here are nineteenth-century reconstructions. The solitary original building that does survive, dating from 1630, is now the small and reasonably interesting Nyboders Mindestuer museum (May-Aug Wed & Fri 11am-2pm, Sun 11am-4pm; Sept-April Wed 11am-2pm, Sun 11am-4pm; 10kr), containing a collection of furniture and domestic objects reflecting life at Nyboder.
