Situated on Gothersgade just south of Rosenborg Slot, Filmhuset (The Film House) is a state-of-the-art complex dedicated to all things connected to the big screen. Occupying a restructured office block, the curious interior contains a large black sarcophagus-like edifice which encloses two of Cinemateket's (the in-house cinema) screens. Other parts of the building are sometimes used as a gallery - expect to see cutting-edge, if not always interesting, Danish art. There's also a bookshop, cafe-bar and a film museum for temporary exhibitions, but the main attraction is the wonderful archives, with three libraries of books, posters, stills and videos (with free viewing facilities).
