Tennis
Copenhagen's one notable tennis tournament, the indoor ATP Copenhagen Open (last week of Feb), has attracted top players like Greg Rusedski and Pat Cash, who have come to KB-Hallen on Peter Bangsvej in Frederiksberg to have a stab at the US$350,000 first prize. The week-long tournament is now one of Denmark's biggest sporting events, and the country comes to a virtual standstill when Danish players such as Frederik Fetterlein and Kenneth Carlsen try to make it just a little bit further than they did last year. KB-Hallen's beautiful interior provides the perfect surroundings. Tickets start at 120kr early in the tournament, rising to 250kr for the finals, and are available at any post office through Billetnet or at the ticket office at KB-Hallen (tel 38 71 14 18). If you want to play tennis yourself, there are indoor and outdoor courts available at the B93 tennis club at Svanemølleanlaegget 10, Osterbro (Mon-Fri 7am-11pm, Sat & Sun 8am-6pm; tel 39 27 18 90; 130-150kr per court per hour; bus #1, #6, #14 or Svanemøllen S-Tog). Book in advance, as it gets busy, and you'll need to bring rackets and balls, as there are none for hire
