Practicalities
Rovinj's bus station is five minutes' walk southeast of the town centre, just off Trg na lokvi, at the junction of Carrera and Carducci. The tourist office is located at Obula Pina Budicin 12 (Jun-Sep daily 8am-9pm; rest of year Mon-Sat 8am-3pm; tel 052/811-566, www.istra.com/rovinj ). Private rooms can be obtained from Natale, opposite the bus station at Carducci 4 (tel 052/813-365, www.natale.hr ); and Onio, also near the bus station at Aldo Rismondo 19 (tel 052/811-155). Of the hotels , the Adriatic , Trg marsala Tita (tel 052/815-088, hotel-adriatic@jadran-turist.tel.hr ; GBP25-30/$40-48/?45-54) is a venerable establishment by the port; while the Katarina on the island of Sveta Katarina (tel 052/811-233; GBP15-20/$24-32/?27-36) is a comfortable off-shore alternative. The nearest campsite is the Polari (tel 052/801-501), 3km south and reached by regular bus. For eating , da Sergio , at Grisia 11, is the best place for pizza; while Konoba Veli Joze , near the tourist office at Sveti Kriz 1, has top-notch seafood.
