Central Sofia's southeastern quarter is one of the inner city's liveliest areas, full of office workers and shoppers during the day, theatregoers and restaurant patrons in the evening. The area's main thoroughfares are ul. G. S. Rakovski , a workaday street lined with office blocks, and ul. Graf Ignatiev , which is the capital's most important shopping district after bul. Vitosha. Government buildings and residental houses mingle in the quiet streets in between, along with a couple of worthwhile literary museums.
