Getting To Kremikovtsi
Tram #22 runs from Knyaz Dondukov to the Avtogara Iztok in the northeastern suburbs (on some signs Avtogara Iztok is called "Avtostantsia Iztok", to differentiate it from Avtogara Poduyane, which is sometimes also misleadingly referred to as Avtogara Iztok by locals), where you change to bus #117. The bus passes the sprawling Kremikovtsi steel works before entering Kremikovtsi village: get off at the village library ( chitalishte ), a two-storey concrete building where the bus veers off to the right. Instead of following the route of the bus, bear left uphill through the village, and the monastery is about thirty minutes' walk; you should be able to pick out the church's cupola and bell tower on the hillside ahead. If you're driving , head out of Sofia along Botevgradsko shose for about 10km, then turn left to Kremikovtsi at the KAT (traffic police) checkpoint.
