One of the best restaurants in Plovdiv, serving excellent Bulgarian specialities, in a traditional-style wooden house with a courtyard and fountain. Try the superb kavarma . Located up a side-street opposite the Balabanov House. Photo-Club ul. Konstantin Stoilov 36. Reasonably priced terrace restaurant serving Bulgarian and international food. Daily noon-midnight. Raxat Tepe ul. Dr. Chomakov. Open courtyard right by the Nebet Tepe citadel, serving grilled snacks and other light meals. Summer only. Ritora ul. Tsar Ivailo. Another classic venue for Bulgarian cuisine in an old house near the Roman theatre. Relatively expensive, but of a high standard. Daily noon-midnight. Trakiiski stan ul. Paldin 7. Another beautifully refurbished National Revival interior, often overrun with tour groups enjoying folklore performances. Average, but overpriced, Bulgarian food. Daily noon-10pm. Ulpia ul. 4 Yanuari 17. Traditional Bulgarian cuisine served in a suite of intimate and elegantly decorated rooms with period furnishings, in a National Revival-style house. Daily 10am-2am.
