The Media
English-language newspapers and magazines are not widely available in Bulgaria, although you may find recent copies of Time, Newsweek , the Financial Times and the Herald Tribune on the bigger newsstands in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. English tabloids appear regularly at the package resorts along the coast, and in Sofia there's an English-language weekly paper called The Sofia Echo , which is an excellent source of local news and comment, and carries a handy supplement listing cultural events in the capital.
