Eating and Drinking
Restaurants and cafes line the main strip - ul. Nezavisimost, ul. Stambolov and ul. Vazov - which leads through the town centre towards Tsarevets. While restaurants remain pretty stable, drinking venues change all the time, and your best bet is just to wander around pl. Slaveykov and pl. Mayka Balgaria until one takes your fancy. Of the more long-standing bars, try the Yasna , on pl. Slaveykov, or Aqua Cafe , on pl. Nezavisimost, whose stylish interior includes a number of fish tanks. The main food market is the open-air Pazar , on the corner of Vasil Levski and Nikola Gabrovski, and there's a 24-hour food shop with a good deli counter at ul. Vasil Levski 9.
