Practicalities
Razgrad's train station lies 5km north of town: although all trains are met by buses into the centre, it's not the most convenient point of arrival. The bus terminal is on the eastern edge of town, within walking distance of both the Ibrahim Pasha mosque (about 15min west) and the ruins of Abritus (about 15min east). Razgrad has a couple of acceptable hotels if you get stranded: the modern two-star Central , ul. Beli Lom 40 (tel 084/24255; US$18-36), and the towering, ziggurat-like, three-star Razgrad on ul. Zheravna, above the main square (tel 084/50021; US$18-36). Plenty of cafes cluster around Razgrad's main square, but there's little to do after dark. Both the Central and Razgrad hotels have good restaurants ; the latter also boasts a disco.
