From Hellbrunn, a few of the #55 buses continue to the village of ST LEONHARD 7km further south, where a cable car ascends the 1853-metre Untersberg . Local legend maintains that the Emperor Charlemagne is asleep under the mountain and will awaken when the ravens disappear from the skies around the summit. The cable car (9am-5pm; return oS215/?15.62; closed Nov) provides access to an impressive panorama of the surrounding countryside, with Salzburg laid out to the north and the high Alps to the south.
