Arrival and Information
Buses from David arrive and depart from the Parque Central, and transporte urbana minibuses head up to the surrounding hamlets from the streets around the parque - taking one of these and then walking back to town is a good way to see the nearby countryside. IPAT has a massive tourist information centre (Mon-Fri 10am-7pm, Sat-Sun 11am-9pm) and cafe overlooking the town at Alto Boquete on the road towards David. The staff here are reasonably helpful, though few speak English, and you should be able to get a map and some basic information on walks in the countryside around Boquete. It's worth coming up here to enjoy the panoramic views, but otherwise you can get better advice from the hotels and tour companies in Boquete. There's a Banco Nacional , on the main road a block south of the Parque, which changes travellers' cheques and has an ATM. The post office and telephone office (Mon-Fri 7am-6pm, Sat 7am-5pm) are both on the main square, while Internet access is available at the Internet Coffee Shop (daily 8am-9pm) on the main road opposite Restaurante La Conquista . Bicycles and mopeds can be rented from Gringo's, on the main road opposite Restaurante La Conquista .
