Arrival and Information
Most buses enter town from the east, by a small football field, with some continuing up the low hill to circle the Parque Central; buses from Guatemala enter town from the west. The post office is just behind the museum; Hondutel is just south of the plaza. There's an excellent community Web site ( www.copanruinas.com ) where you'll find useful hotel and restaurant listings, local news and links; you can choose between several Internet cafes in town, including two branches of Maya Connections, one is just south of the plaza and the other is inside the Hotel Los Gemelos - rates hover around US$5 an hour. Direct luxury air-conditioned Hedman Atlas buses (tel 651 4106) leave Copan for San Pedro Sula daily at 2pm (2hr 45min). Two other bus companies, Gama and Casarola, also run less expensive direct and non-direct services to San Pedro Sula; while slower local buses run every two hours to La Entrada, from where there are plenty of connections to San Pedro Sula.
