Eating and Drinking
There's very little to get excited about in Quiche. Most restaurants and cafes are grouped around the plaza. El Torito Steakhouse , 7 C 1-73, just southwest of the plaza, is the smartest place in town, with kitsch cowboy decor and a menu that's a real carnivore's delight - try the sausages or fried chicken. On the west side of the plaza, La Pizza de Ciro dispenses reasonable pizzas that taste fine if you've come from remote Nebaj and pretty poor if you've arrived from cosmopolitan Antigua. Close by are several uninspiring bakeries with dry pastries and cakes, and also Cafe La Torre , a friendly place for a coffee, snack or a delicious piece of cheesecake. For no-nonsense comedor meals, try Restaurante Las Rosas , 1 Av 1-28.
