Fairly good value three-day tours for about US$250 in high season, including transport by bus and boat, accommodation at the Jungle Lodge , meals and guides. One of the longest-established companies going to Tortuguero and the best budget option, popular with students and backpackers - tours (from US$89 for two days and one night) start from Moin dock near Puerto Limon; Ecole also run boat trips from Moin to Tortuguero (US$55 return). Grupo Mawamba , at the Mawamba Lodge in Tortuguero, or in San Jose at C 24, Av 5/7 (tel 223-2421, fax 222-5463, www.grupomawamba.com ). The best mid-range tour operator, providing superior but affordable packages staying at the Mawamba Lodge . The tours generally last three days and cost around US$219 per person, although longer stays can be arranged.
