Arrival and Information
Travelair and Sansa fly daily except Sunday to Nosara from San Jose, usually via Samara, landing at the small airstrip. The San Jose bus comes in at the Abastecedor general store. There isn't much to the village itself apart from a soccer field, a couple of restaurants and a gas station (the latter is little more than a shack, with no pumps to show what it is - gas is siphoned out of a barrel). The Nosara Office Center (Mon-Fri 9am-noon & 1.30pm-5pm, Sat 9am-2pm), on the left as you enter the village, can send faxes and has the only Internet access south of Tamarindo (US$3 for 15min - pricey, but then there's no competition). They also reconfirm flights and sell tickets to San Jose on the private charter service Pitts Aviation. The correo (Mon-Fri 7.30am-6pm) is next to the airstrip, and public phones are in front of the police station, next to the Cruz Roja. You can rent bikes at Souvenirs Tuanis in the ramshackle old house on the corner of the village. If it's long-term accommodation or taxis to the Ostional refuge you're after, check out their notice board.
