About 4km before San Antonio, at Roy's Cool Spot (where you can get a meal and a drink), a branch road heads off west to the village of BLUE CREEK , whose main attraction is a beautiful stretch of water that runs through magnificent rainforest. Whether you're walking or driving you won't miss the river, as the road crosses it just before it enters the village. The best swimming spot is a lovely turquoise pool about ten minutes' walk upriver along the right-hand bank (facing upstream). The source, the Hokeb Ha cave, is about another fifteen minutes' walk upriver through the privately owned Blue Creek Rainforest Reserve . A guide can take you to Maya altars deep in the cave.
