The St Croix Heritage Trail
One way to see the best of the island is to take the St Croix Heritage Trail , a 72-mile driving route that offers close-up glimpses and detailed information about over 200 sites and attractions around St Croix. The route weaves through the hills between Frederiksted and Christiansted, mostly on Centerline Road. All you have to do is look for and follow the small historic road signs displaying an old sugar mill. You can also pick up a map at their website ( ), or at any tourism office, and many hotels also have information and maps. If you don't have your own car, ask taxis for their special Heritage Trail Tour rates.
