Situated about four miles east of Kingstown is St Vincent's main resort area, a two-mile stretch of coast encompassing Village Beach and Indian Bay and frequented by yachters and tourists alike. As Caribbean beaches go, Villa Beach is disappointing as it is shabby, dominated by a handful of average resorts and punctuated by the jetty that serves the far more attractive Young Island which sits just offshore. Although well used, the beach is not up to the quality of other, more remote beaches on the island; its thin strip of sand is ruined by two storm drains that continuously pour water into the sea. Equally unsightly are the graffiti-covered rocks separating the beach from adjacent Indian Bay ; the latter is cleaner, more popular with locals and excellent for snorkelling. Buses from Kingstown drop passengers off at the end of the short road leading down to the jetty on Villa Beach
