Outside Puerto Rico, dial 787/555-1212 for directory information . Attendants usually answer in Spanish but will switch to English at your request; within Puerto Rico, dial 411. All telephone numbers are seven digits long and preceded by tel 787, which must be used for both local and long-distance calls; for long-distance, dial a "1" first. Post offices , located in most major and small towns, are open from 8am to 5pm weekdays, though some have Saturday morning hours. Decent internet service is hard to come by, except at major hotels, and the rare cybercafe. The country code for Puerto Rico is 787.
