Getting There
San Juan's Luis Munoz Marin International Airport is serviced by almost thirty US and international carriers, with half the Caribbean's flight traffic passing through it. The main US gateways are New York and Miami. A hub for American Airlines /American Eagle , San Juan is also serviced by major airlines such as British Airways, Air Canada, Air France, Iberia and Air Jamaica. Jet Blue (tel 800/538-2583) flies direct from New York for as little as US$250 round-trip. A typical high-season return ticket from London runs about GBP450. There are no flights to San Juan from Australasia. International and domestic flights also travel through two smaller airports: Mercedita in Ponce (tel 787/842-6292) and Eugenio Maria de Hostos in Mayaguez (tel 787/833-0148). Puerto Rico is one of the world's top cruise ship destinations.
