TERRE-DE-BAS , twenty minutes west of Terre-de-Haut by ferry , needn't rank high on your must-see list, unless you're looking for isolation. There's only one easily accessible beach at Grande Anse , a small community ten-minutes' walk from the pier, and a handful of rugged hiking circuits through the arid inland foothills. Few forge on to quaint Petite-Anse , at the island's western end, only really of note for its pretty conch-decorated cemetery .
