Diving
Of Dominica's over forty dive sites , the most impressive are found around Scotts Head , where submerged volcanic craters are covered with seafans and busy with schools of fish and lobster. Seahorse sightings are common at nearby Soufriere , while squid and stoplight parrotfish swim around Champagne Reef , site of a subaquatic hot spring. The best diving sites northward on the Caribbean coast are around Cabrits National Park where reefs drop off to sandy bottoms over 100ft below the surface. Nearby Douglas Point has three sites worth exploring, including a coral-and-sponge-covered canyon and a 50ft wall with ample lobster, barracuda and mackerels. For wreck diving, Pringles Bay near Canefield Airport holds the remains of a tug and barge.
