Phones and Post
There are public telephones at every square and many street corners, many of which take coins; those that don't take phone cards , which you can buy from the post office, Cable & Wireless outlets and some convenience stores. For the best rates, call after 7pm. There are only a couple of places to check your email in Roseau, with surprisingly reasonable rates. The sluggish Dominican postal service is headquartered at the corner of Roseau's Hillsborough and Bay streets (Mon-Wed & Fri 8am-3pm, Thurs & Sat 8am-noon). Sending a postcard anywhere in the world costs EC$0.55 - add EC$0.35 for letters to North America and Europe and EC$0.65 for those to Australia, Africa and the Middle East.
