Outdoor Activities
Many fishing boats from Tortola will also pick up guests on Virgin Gorda for a day of deep-sea or sport fishing. At BVI Watersports (tel 284/495-7558), Captain Bennu offers various packages around the sound, or try Captain Kevin Gray (tel 284/495-6666), who has two boats, one for inshore light tackle and one for offshore deep-sea fishing. Rates range from US$350 for a half-day to US$950 for a full day. Virgin Gorda isn't especially known for its hiking , but a few simple nature trails thread the hills connecting Biras Creek to The Bitter End ; both resorts provide free maps to guests and non-guests alike. You can also hike to the top of Virgin Gorda Peak National Park . Most of the resorts have tennis facilities, free to guests but also open to non-guests for around US$6-10 per hour. Biras Creek, Leverick Bay and Little Dix Bay have the most courts.
