Eating
You can get anything from local food in the villages around Gun Creek to gourmet dining at lavish Biras Creek Resort . Gun Creek can be reached by ferry (the staff ferries from resorts to Gun Creek are free, but beware, they don't run late) or road. From the ferry dock, it's a short taxi ride or a steep uphill walk to the strip at the top for some cheap and delicious local food. Try The Twin House (tel 284/495-7469) for large curried and boiled fish meals, Gunney's for simple fried chicken or Angie's Friday night barbecue. Spanish Town has plenty of moderately priced restaurants, most of which also double as bars and dance clubs later in the evening. If you want to make up a picnic , The Wine Cellar and Bakery (Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour) is the best place to get a good bottle of wine, plus cookies and sandwiches to go.
