LAEM CHAICHET 's rocky headland curves round into an attractive and secluded casuarina-fringed bay. There are just two bungalow operations here: the access track from the main road leads straight to the cute chalet-style huts at Coconut (tel 01/219 3432; $10-15); follow the path 100m to the right, across a small khlong, for Chaichet (tel 01/219 3458; $10-15), with simple A-frame huts and bungalows prettily located on the headland. Neither place rents motorbikes, so you'll either have to get one from Hat Sai Kaew, or rely on songthaews, which take about ten minutes from Hat Sai Kaew, fifteen minutes to Hat Kai Bae, or 25 minutes from the pier.
