South of Ko Chang lies a whole cluster of islands, some of which offer tourist accommodation. The most visited and accessible of these is KO MAK , which lies off the south coast of Ko Chang, and boasts fine white sand beaches along its south and west coasts. From November to April, one boat a day leaves from Laem Ngop at 3pm, costs B170, and takes about three and a half hours. It's also possible to get here from Ko Chang, on the Island Hopper boat (every Wed). Ko Mak has several bungalow operations: Lazy Days (tel 02/281 3412; under $5), set on a rather rocky stretch of beach, Bamboo Guesthouse (under $5) which offers classic bamboo huts, or try the popular Fantasia, with simple bungalows (under $5). Miniature KO KHAM lies off the northern tip of Ko Mak, and has room for just one set of bungalows, Ko Kham Resort (tel 039/597114; $5-20), with a restaurant that's not great for vegetarians. There's a daily boat from Laem Ngop at 3pm; it takes three hours and costs B170. Beaches on KO WHAI , east of Ko Kham, tend to be rocky, so the snorkelling is better than the sunbathing. You can stay at Paradise ($5-10), which offers cheap bamboo huts, or the more comfortable Coral Resort (tel 039/512634; $5-15). Boats to Ko Whai depart from Laem Ngop daily at 3pm from November to April, take about two and a half hours, and cost B130. You can also get here from Ko Chang, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on the Island Hopper boat.
