Hilly KO TARUTAO , the largest of the islands, is covered in rainforest and has perfect beaches all along its 26-kilometre west coast. Boats dock at Ao Pante , on the northwestern side, where the admission fee (B20) is collected; here you'll find the park headquarters and visitor centre, a small shop and a restaurant. You can stay in national park bungalows ($10-40), longhouses (B80 per bed), or tents (B100 a night for two people), or pitch your own tent (B10 per person per night). Behind the settlement, the steep, half-hour climb to To-Boo Cliff is a must, especially at sunset, for its fine views. A half-hour walk south from Ao Pante, the two quiet bays of Ao Jak and Ao Malae are fringed by coconut palms. Behind the house at the south end of Ao Malae, a road leads over the headland to the three-kilometre sweep of Ao Sone (2hr from Ao Pante), whose freshwater stream makes it a good spot for camping.
