In Singapore - where three quarters of the population are Chinese - Buddhism is the main religion, though many Singaporean Chinese consider themselves specifically Taoist or Confucianist . There's also a smaller, but significant, Hindu Indian presence, as well an Islamic congregation. Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam all play a vital role in the everyday lives of the population.
