The area of Laguna around Los Banos is famous for hot springs and there are a number of resorts that have springs you can bathe in. Most are on the main road between Calamba and Los Banos. Jeepneys from Calamba (P10-20) head out here from the main square. Many of the resorts have simple accommodation in nipa huts. Los Banos Lodge and Hot Springs (tel 049/536 0498; $10-15) is one of the most popular and can get busy at weekends with stressed-out workers from the capital. A bit more upmarket, the Lakeview Resort Hotel (tel 049/536 0101; $40-60), just outside Los Banos at 728 Lopez St, has air-con rooms with shower. The resorts are easily reached by jeepney or tricycle from the square at Calamba, about twenty minutes' ride away.
