Practicalities
Asian Spirit flies to Boac daily. Jeepneys and tricycles wait at the small airport , ten minutes from town, and will ferry you into town for anything from P10 to P50, depending on your bargaining skills. BLTB buses depart hourly from their terminal in Pasay in Manila for the port of Dalahican in Lucena City and take three hours. You then transfer to the Lucena-to-Boac ferry, which departs once daily somewhere between 10.30am and 11am (2hr). The ferry often becomes congested, especially at Easter, and in the typhoon season sometimes doesn't sail at all. There's not much in the way of effective tourist information in Boac, although you can get advice and resort information from any of the resorts on the pebbly beach a short tricycle ride immediately south of town. The best place to stay in Boac is the Boac Hotel (tel 322 1121; $5-10), which has cheap singles and doubles, with a fan and bath. The friendly staff can also give advice on sightseeing. The coast is dotted with rustic beach huts that you can rent for P100-250 a night.
placesmarissa dela torre says "please provide all the places where we can visit in marinduque." TREK AROUND THE ISLANDRAMON M. GALLINERA says "THE ISLAND IS AN IDEAL PLACE FOR PEOPLE WHO ENJOYS APPRECIATING THE BEAUTY OF NATURE. WALKING AROUND THE ISLAND IS A GOOD FOR THE BODY AND SPIRIT. I HAVE WALKED THE ENTIRE ISLAND IN (9) NINE DAYS. AS THE FIRST MAN TO WALK THE ENTIRE ISLAND YOU CAN START THE WALK FROM BALANACAN PORT TO MOGPOG, THEN MOGPOG TO BOAC and GASAN. On the 3rd Day the walk from Gasan to Buenavista is very calming. A night of stay at one of the hot springs is very good for the body. The walk from Buenavista to Malibago and then to Torrijos in 2 Days is being close to the nature and the people. Torrijos to the boundary of Sta. Cruz and then on the next day to the town of Sta. Cruz. Sta. Cruz to mogpog can be done in one day or 2 days depending on your stamina. For more details on how to walk around the island you can email me at : global consultancy_gallinera @yahoo.com "
