A path from Pachali Bhairab leads to the ghats of the Bagmati River, which stretch as far as the eye can see in either direction. Statues, temples and all manner of artefacts are jumbled along these stone-paved embankments - especially to the west, where the Bishnumati joins the Bagmati - and you could easily spend several hours picking around among them. The entire area is the subject of a proposed restoration project, so maybe someday (probably around the time the rivers run clean) it will enjoy a much-deserved renaissance. For the time being, though, it's in a pretty sorry state of neglect.
