Desserts
K.C.'s, Helena's, Laxmi Narayan's and many other restaurants listed produce spectacular confections, some of which actually taste as good as they look. If none of those hits the spot, try one of the following. Angan , corner of Ganga Path and Shukra Path. Divine Indian-style sweets (buy them by the piece), also ice cream. (Other purveyors of fine Indian sweets include Dudh Sagar on Kantipath and Trishna Mithai on Lazimpath.) Inexpensive. Delicatessen Center , Kantipath. Decadent cake and pie slices, pastries, creme brulee, chocolates and ice cream. Inexpensive. Snowman , Freak Street. Operating continuously since 1968, this is the only one of Freak Street's original pie shops still going, and it's got a kind of cool that doesn't go out of fashion. Superior pies, cakes and creme caramel. Amazingly eclectic tunes. Cheap.
