The road to Trisuli passes a couple of worthy sights before it climbs out of the valley. Buses (departing from the City Bus Park) and tempos (from the Kantipath side of Rani Pokhari) follow fixed routes to Balaju and almost as far as the Nagarjun Ban gate, but both of these destinations are within easy cycling distance of Kathmandu - and a mountain bike will stand you in good stead once you get to Nagarjun Ban. Simple food - snacks, momo and daal bhat - is available from diners in Balaju. If you're cycling or walking to Nagarjun Ban, you can eat in more pleasant surroundings at a few outdoor cafes along the main road beyond the forest entrance (the Rajneeshis' idiosyncratic vegetarian restaurant, Zorba the Buddha, is 4km beyond).
