bank (Nepal Rastra Bank) at the southern end of town exchanges some foreign currencies (Sun-Thurs 10am-2pm, Fri 10am-noon). Nepal Bangladesh Bank, at Bhanu Chowk, can change cash but not travellers' cheques. Many shops along Station Road offer international and trunk telephone services, and a couple of them have email . Janakpur has a hospital , but hope you never need it; pharmacies and private doctors' practices can be found along the street in front of the hospital.
