Arrival and Information
JR Kotohira Station is a ten-minute walk northeast of the town centre. To the left as you exit the station is a cloakroom for left luggage (daily 6.30am-9pm; Y200 per bag). If you've travelled by Kotoden train from Takamatsu, you'll arrive at the smaller station closer to the town centre on the banks of the Kanekura-gawa. The tourist information office, or kanko kaikan (daily 9.30am-8pm) is on the main street between the two stations; very little English is spoken here but you can pick up a map and check on accommodation options. Buses from Takamatsu terminate at the bus station at the eastern end of the covered shopping arcade leading to the main approach to the shrine.
