The buses listed below are mainly long-distance services - often travelling overnight - between the major cities, and local services where there is no alternative means of transport. For shorter journeys, however, trains are almost invariably quicker and often no more expensive. Kochi to: Okayama (8 daily; 2hr 30min); Osaka (daily; 5hr 35min); Tokyo (1 daily; 11hr 40min). Matsuyama to: Kochi (13 daily; 3hr); Okayama (6 daily; 2hr 50min); Onomichi (2 daily; 2hr 40min); Osaka (1 daily; 7hr); Takamatsu (12 daily; 2hr 35min); Tokyo (2 daily; 12hr 40min); Tokushima (4 daily; 3hr 25min). Takamatsu to: Kochi (13 daily; 2hr); Nagoya (1 daily; 7hr 30min); Matsuyama (12 daily; 2hr 35min); Tokyo (1 daily; 11hr); Yokohama (1 daily; 10hr 30min). Tokushima to: Awaji-shima/Fukura (4 daily; 1hr 6min); Awaji-shima/Tsuna (14 daily; 1hr 45min); Osaka (4 daily; 3hr 10min); Takamatsu (12 daily; 2hr); Tokyo (1 daily; 10hr 40min).
