In the extreme west of Sumba lie the increasingly popular areas of Kodi and Pero . The Kodi district, with its centre in the village of BANDOKODI , is particularly well-known for the towering roofs that top the traditional houses. It is also one of the main pasola venues in West Sumba. There is one direct bus a day from Waikabubak to Bandokodi; otherwise, you'll have to take a bus to Waitabula in the north and then wait for a bus to fill up for the trip around the coast. As the trip between Bandokodi and Waikabubak takes approximately four hours, and the last bus back to Waitabula is at 2pm, a stopover in Pero is in order.
