Eating
There are a string of cheap warung opposite Cinema Antasari on Jalan Sutoyo. Terminal Rasa, near the Glora cinema on Jalan Sudirman, is a huge canteen with various stalls. More salubrious restaurants include the popular Chinese New Shangrila, Jl Yani 29, which serves tasty crab, fried prawn balls and spicy tofu; and Depot Kawisan Jaya, just west of the Balikpapan Plaza on Jalan Sudirman, serving the finest goat and venison sates in Kalimantan. At the split-level, open-air courtyard at Bondy, Jl Yani, you can eat superbly grilled seafood in real comfort for about Rp45,000 a head. New Hollan, Jl Yani, is a bakery, cafe and restaurant.
