PROBOLINGGO is 38km east of Pasuruan. The train station is on the northern side of the alun-alun. The bus terminal is 6km southwest of town; yellow microlets run to the town centre. Minibuses for Cemoro Lawang leave from the terminal, and there are two buses daily - they are labelled "Sukapura" and "Ngadisari" on the front but also serve Cemoro Lawang. The best accommodation is Hotel Bromo Permai, Jl Raya P Sudirman 237 (tel 0335/427451; under $10), where staff can arrange chartered transport to Cemoro Lawang and have train information. To get here from the bus station take a G or F yellow microlet and, from here to the terminal or station, a G. For eating , Rumah Makan Sumber Hidup, Jl Dr Moch Saleh 2, at the junction with Jalan Raya P Sudirman, has an extensive menu of rice, sate, soup, juices and ices. The banks on Jalan Suroyo do foreign exchange : Bank Bumi Daya at no. 23, BCA at no. 28, BRI at no. 30, or BNI at no. 46. All have ATMs. The post office , Jl Suroyo 33 (Mon-Sat 7am-8pm), has public Internet access (daily 9am-8pm). The wartel (daily 7am-11pm), next to the main Telkom administration office, is at Jl Suroyo 37.
