Practicalities
A taxi to or from the airport , 10km northeast of the city, should cost Y25, or there's a regular airport bus (Y10) to and from the CAAC office. The main train station (there are three in total), long-distance bus stations and passenger ferry terminal are all fairly central, and as the city centre is compact, the minimum Y10 fare in a taxi will get you to most places. Alternatively, a new trolley line, #202, runs north-southwest roughly along Zhongshan Lu beginning in the shopping area around Xi'an Lu. The beaches rimming the southern edge of the peninsula are about 5km out and easily accessible by bus or taxi.
