Two train services depart from Phnom Penh station: one eases northwards to Pursat, Battambang and Sisophon, the other rumbles south towards Kampot and Sihanoukville. There's only one train on the Sihanoukville line and it leaves Phnom Penh every two days, with the return leg on the other days. The train is scheduled to leave at 6am, and takes twelve hours. The Battambang train leaves every day at 6am, and also takes twelve hours. If you are continuing on to Sisophon, you'll need to overnight in Battambang.
