Transport
All the main tourist spots are accessible by well-paved roads and some form of public transport. Most travellers find it easy to get around, as buses are frequent and cheap, and service taxis run to and from every resort. The sole exception is the border at Taba , which has only a couple of buses a day waiting to take people further south - as well as a few service taxis, whose drivers are notorious for taking financial advantage of the shortage of buses. Foreign motorists are restricted to main roads; given the baking heat and huge distances, hitchhiking is a dubious proposition unless your destination is nearby or you're certain of a ride all the way (or at least to somewhere with shade and buses). Women should never hitch alone. MFO personnel are forbidden to give lifts.
